USDA Senior Food
USDA Senior Food is a once-a-month box of shelf-stable food for persons over age 60 who are income eligible. Serving Marion County. A partnership between the Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri, USDA, and Douglass Community Services.
Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots
Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots provides Christmas gifts for low-income children. Counties serviced include Lewis, Marin, Ralls, Pike, Shelby, and Monroe. Applications available mid-October. To keep informed check out the Facebook page: Toys for Tots of Northeast Missouri.
School Supply Drive
This program provides needed school supplies to students in the Hannibal School District. Donations are accepted all year. Applications are sent home with students in late April.
Many programs at Douglass Community Services are in need of volunteers to fully serve the needs. If you can volunteer once or regularly, we are interested in you! Volunteers can help with Toys for Tots, with Head Start classrooms, in the food pantry or in the Thrift Store. Volunteers are also needed in short-term projects, such as the school supply drive and summer lunches. Volunteers are eligible for mileage reimbursement.
USDA Summer Lunch Program

Missouri Property Tax Credit
Volunteers help senior and disabled persons file for the property tax credit (sometimes called circuit breaker or renter’s rebate). A small fee is charged for this service. Persons seeking to file for the credit need to bring proof of annual income (from all sources) and either proof of paid property taxes or proof of rent paid. Appointment required. Call 573.221.3892.
