Key Management Staff
Dave Dexheimer, Executive Director: Primary advocate for the mission, vision, and values of Douglass Community Services. Over eighteen years experience in nonprofit operation and management. Extensive experience in all aspects of fund raising including estate planning, planned giving, direct mail, phone campaigns, grant writing, capital campaigns, and personal contacts. Holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Communications from Hannibal LaGrange College and a Master of Arts Degree in Management from Webster University.
Dan Whelan, Finance Director: Responsible for the overall efficient operation of all agency fiscal and accounting procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines. Over twenty-two years experience in accounting, finance and general management of businesses and nonprofit organizations. Holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from Quincy University.
Janeane Reis, Human Resources Director: Responsible for consultation and training for all agency supervisory personnel in areas concerning interpretation and application of agency policies and progressive disciplinary action. Provides direction in the design, implementation, and continuing administration of personnel policies. Has a broad background in business and human resource policy. Holds a Bachelor of Journalism with emphasis in Public Relations from the University of Missouri (Summa Cum Laude).
Linda Bleything, Head Start Director: Responsible for the overall operation of fourteen Head Start and Early Head Start Centers in eight counties in Northeast Missouri serving over 460 children. Holds the Associate of Arts Degree from Southwest Community College, the Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Iowa Wesleyan College, and the Master of Arts in Education, Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix.
Peggy Walley, Community Support Services Director: Responsible for administration of agency food and clothing distribution programs, homeless prevention efforts and community betterment projects. Holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from St. Louis University.
Stacey Nicholas, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Director: Responsible for recruitment, training and volunteer sites locations over a six county area. Nicholas is completing a Masters of Theological Studies at Quincy University.
Joanne Schrader, Court Appointed Special Advocates Program Director: Responsible for volunteer recruitment, training and oversight, working in conjunction with the Tenth Judicial Circuit Court's Juvenile Office and County Division of Family Services Offices. Extensive knowledge of child abuse/neglect law and prevention techniques. Holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Quincy University.
Amy Vaughn, Kids in Motion Program Director: Responsible for job recruitment, fund raising, volunteer recruitment and training. Highly energetic and creative. Versed in coordinated community planning and collaboration. Holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services from Hannibal LaGrange College.
