Latest NewsClick here to download the June Newsletter PACE Program The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program at Douglass Community Services offers PACE, a one-hour low-impact exercise class from 9-10 am on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at its 711 Grand Ave, Hannibal Office. Research has shown that exercise is an essential tool in managing arthritis. Exercise reduces joint pain and stiffness, builds strong muscle around the joints, and increases flexibility and endurance. It also helps promote overall health and fitness, increasing energy, promoting better sleep, controlling weight, decreasing depression, and lifting self-esteem. Furthermore, exercise can help stave off health problems such as osteoporosis and heart disease. |
Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) enriches the lives of senior adults through significant community volunteer service and personal development. RSVP encourages seniors to volunteer their talents, experiences, skills, and hobbies to community not-for-profit agencies for the betterment of those agencies and the community as a whole.
